biomass and nuclear power

what are they ? how are they used ?

Biomass like many others is a way to generate clean energy in a really simple way. It consists of burning wood, plants and organic residues, such as household waste, in a combustor or furnace to create hot gas. This is transferred into a boiler and used to spin a turbine and generate electricity. Biomass is considered a renewable energy source because its main source of energy comes from the sun and because it can regrow in a very short period of time. Despite being an effective and easy way to make clean energy, its process is not considered to be entirely clean. When the organic residues are first burned, they release methane gas to the atmosphere creating acid rain and contributing to the issue of global warming. There is also an enormous risk of deforestation to make more material for the urgent making of energy in some places in this world. Instead of buying oil coal and gas from other countries like Russia or India, which is incredibly expensive, they need to start to produce energy independently and not rely on other countries. So they have used the method of biomass for quite some time. They create energy by burning organic residues, but one day those reserves are going to run out and the production of household waste products is not enough to create energy to keep all industries working. So the only quick solution that the goverment sees is to cut down more trees, a method that could work for quite some time but as time goes by and the goverment keeps cutting down trees to make electricity the quantity of trees that are available is going to go down. They are going to realise that if they don't find a way to make their own energy, they will need to buy it for incredibly expensive amounts. So they may start to deforest their forest grounds , making wildlife disappear or even become extinct, as well as contributing to the climate change issue

nuclear power is one of the most effective and clean ways to create electricity although the method is a complicated chemical process called fission in which consists in splitting uranium atoms then they place this split atoms converted into nuclear bars into water , and because the chemical composition of uranium has the property to boil water thanks to its incredibly warm temperature , this generates heat to produce steam which is used by a turbine generator to generate electricity and because nuclear power plants do not burn fuel they do not produce greenhouse gas emissions , and all the steam that we can see generating from nuclear factories is just water steam , although being one of the most eco friendly methods to produce eco friendly electricity it has also its disadvantages , the most obvious one is how expensive it is to build and the worst is that every year the prices increase for example in 2002 the construction of a power plant cost $2 billion and in 2008 the price increased to $9 billion , another disadvantage are the accidents , when you think of a nuclear power plant accident the first thing that comes to your head is the incident in chernobyl , it contaminated many countries like Ukraine , Sweden and also a large part of west russia , the number of deaths is an estimated 10.000 people , also another huge accident that happened in a nuclear power plant was in Fukushima with 18.500 deaths and an estimated 160.000 were obligated to move from their homes because of the radiation . and another huge disadvantage is the radioactive waste produced by the chemical reaction from the uranium and the water , because after they mix the uranium with the water to create steam the water gets contaminated and it cannot be used again , so they throw it into a river and in consequence they kill all the biodiversity and contaminate the river , and these is a huge problem because the flow of the river will carry the contaminated water from the are of the factorie and contaminate many other areas that towns use for recreation or to consume , or the other problem is that the contaminated water will go into subterranean water currents and then there is a possibility that in a neer crop plantation the plants will absorb the subterranean water to have necessary nutrients to grow and there is a possibility that the contaminated water in the subterranean currents could be used by plants that will end up contaminated and will contaminate anyone who eats the product.
